Annette Shafer has always had a lifelong passion for vibrant and healthy living. Starting with fond memories of growing up in an extended family environment where there was always something simmering away on the stove. Annette has always been inspired to live life in a way that pairs nourishment with nurturing in all ways that encourages ease and ultimate enjoyment. 

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) with a BA from Boston University's Hotel and Restaurant Management program, plus many positions working both in hospitality and then later in international trade, she initially ventured into the Napa Valley at the behest of the CIA years ago to open their campus there as Director of Operations and has happily made this her home base ever since. Now with 2 children who are the most amazing, creative and compassionate young adults plus a very patient, understanding and supportive husband,  and a gentle and loving Golden Retriever, she took the plunge to start a business that encompasses not only food, with plants as the star of the show – but with the strong desire to meet everyone where they are on the continuum so to also mindfully source land and sea proteins that find their way artfully into the menu offerings. With Crisp Kitchen & Juice, she’s on a mission to share all the things she’s experienced over the years as a lifestyle that creates inspiration and ease in this busy world.
